Description

Softmod allows you to play full Wii U games backed up from your own collection through a USB hard drive or thumbdrive.

– Run homebrew apps
– Play backup games off thumbdrive or HDD
– Play virtual console titles

Requirements

– Wii U System only (no cables, controllers or wii u pad)
– An SD Card (32GB preferred if you plan on adding more games later on)*
– Thumb drive (the bigger the better) or Portable drive (you might need a y-splitter)**
– A Nintendo Wii U shop account (we can create one if you don’t have one already)

* if you plan on adding your own games after the mod, you will need a 32GB sd card (or microsd with sd card adapter). Game installs are transferred to the sd card, from there, after inserting it to the Wii U, you install from the sd card to your thumb drive or portable drive.

** some portable drives require more power to run normally. A USB y-splitter is needed in order for the wii u to supply more power to the portable drive.
