With the technology available at the time, the nomad came with a fluorescent backlit LCD. This severely impacted the image quality by making the overall image washed out, created ghosting blur, and made it consume a significant amount of power.

Our Sega Nomad has been modded to include a modern LED display which outclasses the original in every way: power efficiency, significantly less ghosting and artifacts, significantly brighter, and exceptional color saturation by comparison.
